DesignTO 'Art Intelligence' Collection
The future of art in Canada will be influenced by a combination of cultural, technological, economic, and societal factors. As technology continues to evolve, in what ways can it help — or harm — artists, and the future cultural landscape of Canadian art?
In January 2024, Partial presented a group show and programming series entitled: Art Intelligence: The Near Future of Art in Canada as part of DesignTO. Twenty-five works were displayed at Gallery 1313 in Toronto, and several dozen more were showcased in our digital showcase alongside the new PAAS system, a pilot of Partial’s AI-assisted curator.
Artists were asked to submit works that consider the impact of technology on the fine arts, the intersection of hand-crafted techniques and AI, and how all of these might better share ideas and stories through art. Included works celebrating the near future of art in Canada feature submissions from the next wave of exciting artists such as Raha Fard, Jason Zante, Sasha Q, Chico Togni, and many more.
